With reference to your letter No.22808 of the 25th
May, I am directed by Lord R. Cecil to transmit to you herewith for the information of Mr. Secretary Bonar Law,
a copy of a despatch received from His Majesty's Consul General
at New York, relative to the information regarding suspect shipments to New York, with which he thinks it desirable that he should be supplied from Hong Kong.
I am to enquire whether Mr. Bonar Law would be prepared to communicate with the Governor of Hong Kong with a view to his issuing instructions in accordance with Mr. Bayley's request.
