With reference to your letter No.31233 of
July 4th. regarding the censorship of mails for
the American Navy at Hongkong, I am directed by
Lord R.Cecil to transmit to you herewith a copy
of a letter addres ed to the United States
Ambassador, after consultation with the Lords
Commissioners of the Admiralty.
Lord R.Cecil hopes that Mr.Secretary Bonar Law
will issue instructions by telegraph to the
authorities at longkong in accordance with the
promise made to Mr.Page in the enclosed note.
