With reference to my despatok No.3 Treaty of
the 8th January last, I transmit to you herewith a
copy of a despatch from His Majesty's Kinister at
Feking forwarding correspondence respecting
Monsieur Volpicelli, the Italian Consul-General at
Canton.
I must leave to Your Hxoellency's discretion, if
a suitable opportunity presents itself, whether you
will mention his case again to the Italian Government
and ascertain whether they propose to take any action
in the matter.
