Go With reference to your letter of the 8th October, No.44880, I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the
Admiralty to request that you will inform the Secretary of
State for the Colonies that the Lords Commissioners of His
Majesty's Treasury have approved of the proposals contained in Admiralty letter of the 12th December (of which a copy was forwarded to you), respecting the cessation of the whole
contribution of $2,000 hitherto made by the Colonial
Government of Hong Kong to Naval Funds in respect of the maintenance of the Peak and Cape d'Aguilar Visual Stations,
and the continuance of the nominal rent of 1 paid to the
Colonial Government in respect of the site of the latter.
The Commander-in-Chief, China, and the Rear-Admiral
in Charge, Hong Kong, have been informed accordingly.
