Sir,

I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the

Admiralty to forward herewith, for the information of the

Secretary of State for the Colonies, a copy of correspondence,

received from the Commander-in-Chief, East Indies, relative

to the procedure adopted at Kurachee in the matter of

stamping and sealing ships' papers, and to enquire whether

vessels from Hong Kong and Singapore could be made to

conform to this procedure.
