I am directed by the Governor te return to

you the memorial which you have addressed to the secretary

of State for the Colonise on the subject of your suspersice

ard to inform you that Els Ezoslleroy considers that in

bringing charges of irregularity and drunkerness agiret

other officers which you cannot substatiate you are

adopting a line of defence which is wholly unjustifiable and

more likely to injure them to sesist your oause.

I am therefore to suggest that you would be

well advised to re-consider your position. Any fresh

memorial which you may wish to make should reach this office

before 2 p.m. tomorrow in view of the fact that the mail

goes out on Friday.
