Puta in letter of 27.11.16 to Lt.Gaimes and his reply.
Proposes to call Messrs. Fletcher,Wadehouse and Hamilton,
States:-
I can call Lt.Duguid (74th.), Mr. Wilkin (H,K,3,B.),
Mr. Franks (Geol), Mr. Stanley Moore (Solicitor), Mr.
Burn (ondet), and many others, if required. I call only
three now because I wish to avoid a soandal.
Then I came back from leave in the end of 1914, I
took no alcohol an the voyage of six weeks, Mr.
Bowley
and Mr. Brayshay were on board. I also drank nothing
en the voyage home.
The man who perhaps knows me best in the Colony,
Lt. Tisdall, is absent at the moment. He will be back in
about a month,
On Saturday 4th. I saw Mr. Tratman in the office. I
was then perfectly sober, I spent Sunday in the house.
Monday was a public holiday. At 5,45 p.m. I reported myself to Inspector O'Sullivan at No. 7 Station for
polics duty. I did three hours påtrol. I could call Inspector O'Sullivan and ly Rapp, the constable on patrol with me. On the 7th. I went to the office and saw Mr. Hamilton about some tickets. In the afternoon E. Marriott rang me up. On the 8th. I saw the B.8.D. in the morning. I was then perfectly sober. I also had a long
