We have the honour to address you with reference to

our interview on the question of the Building and Repairing

of Neutral vessels at the Taikoo Dookyard.

ve confirm that we have no vessels building for

neutral owners. All new vessels under construction with us are

for British owners; and all at present building have been

classed by His Majesty's Home Government as War Work.

With regard to the repair of neutral vessels, we have

had since the establishment of our yard practically permanent

sonnsation with various Lines of neutral staaners trading to this

Port, as for instancs the Dutch Java-China-Japan Lijn, whose

vessels trade hare regularly and with whom we have a long standing

arrangement by which they carry Java Raw Sugar for the Taikoo

Refinery; the American Pacific Mail Co. whose vessels also trade

here regularly; and generally there are various neutral vessel.

the Anglo Saxon 011 Co, most of whose vessels are under the

British flag, but some are under the Dutch flag, which vessel.
