6. The expenditure for upkeep has been very high,
chiefly due to the hull requiring several new plates before the vessel could be put into commission and to the ladder
being seriously damaged on three cocesione during dredging.
The whole of this expenditurs, together with repairs to dredging gear undertaken at the same time, has been charged
to "Upkeep of Plent".
I forward a plan, prepared from actual soundings,
showing what progress has been made with the dredging and
what still remains to be done.
7. If the dredger continues working without further
breakdown, Kovember should about, see the dredging completed.
The small area, indicated by double cross-hatching in red
adjacent to the new pier, can best be done by the ab
dredger and arrangements will be made accordingly.
