your letter of the 14th. inst. received

yesterday, I can only say that the bonding mentioned in a most unfortunate slip. I had rend so much during recent momtke about the Laurentio in the Shanghai, Japan end Hemile papers that I muợt have been under the impresion when the hoading was written that the Laurentio had been mentioned at one time or another in the Hongkong papers. On reference to

my files I find references to the 6.6. "Ohine" and to the

prisoners only and I very much regret the inadvertenos which caused me to associate the Laurentio with the telegram in

qubation.
