six hundred packages, mostly of cotton piece goods
consigned by Neuss Hesslein & Co. of New York, Berlin and
Manila were detained, these were consigned "to order" or
to their recently opened branch in Manila. The great majority
bore suspect or known oneny marke, and the British Consul
General at Manila has frequently reported that this firm is
at the present time the largest supplier of enemy firms
in the Philippines. The firm was till recently placed in
class A of the General Trade Black List.

still stored in the agents' neme, this will facilitate the
despatch of any which may be allowed to go forward at any

S. E. "Kafus" finished unloading her Hongkong
cargo on August 9th, and at once commenced unloading all her Manila cergo end finally left Hongkong on August 17th.
In respect of the cargo detained the Hongkong
agents were furnished with a certificats attached under seal
to a full schedule of all such cargo, each sheet being
authenticated by the seal of this office.
