Referring to your Confidential Despatch of the 15t
April, I have the honour to forward copies of correspondence
with His Majesty's Minister at Bangkok regarding the trans- -mission through Hongkong of goods consigned to W. F. Schmidt.
2. Subsequently to the commencement of this cor- -respondence a number of parcels addressed to Schmidt under his aliases were detained in the Post Office; and, as there
was not
sufficient evidence which could be produced in Court in support of a claim for condemnation, these were returned to the senders
in Japan.
