I have the honour to request your sanction for the employment in the Office of the Registrar of Companies, Shanghai, of an assistant at a salary of One hundred and twenty dollars per month, it being impossible to secure the services of

a suitable person at a lower figure than this.

I have the honour also to request that an

Underwood typewriter and the following works of reference be

supplied for the use of the said Office:

Palmer: Company Law;

Palmer: Company Precedente, Parts 1, 2, and 3.
