State for the Colonies.

2nd May Your telegram April 20th, The Committee do not favour supporting a Club. They are ready to contribute a sum of at least £10,000 a year to a war hospital approved by the War Office on condition that the hospital or certain wards in it be named after Hong Kong and that with the management of the hospital two unofficial representatives of the Colony are associated moment. If you will try to bring about such an arrangement I shall be very much obliged. When the Committee learn that you can do so, they will appoint their representative in London to arrange details after conference with you.
