Ip Fung, Married women, of Sha U Chung, Hirs Bay,
which
Chinese Territory, reports that her son, named Ho Chong, 23 years of age, black smith, residing at Sai Wan Ho, Shaukiwan, left Sai Wan Ho on or about 13th. January, 1916, and want via Tai Po by launch to Sha Ụ Chung on a visit to the village of Ting Po bet- -veen Sha U Chung and Tan Shui, and left Tung Po on the 17th. January, 1916, for Hongkong. On boarding the 8.L. "Sun On", was lying in British Waters off Sha U Chung, a boat from a Chinese Gunboat, which was lying near by, come on board and searched the launch. Took her son and another man from off the Launch on to the Gunboat, and she has not seen or heard of her son since. "She denies that her son left Sai Wan Ho with a number of others to join the revolutioners" in Kwai Sin District. She also denies that her son took any part in the revolution and can give no reason to us for the notion of the Chinese Authorities. (A) was in answer te question by me, as I had heard a rumour to the effect that a number did leave Sai Wan Ho for this purpose. The Gunboat, that arrested the two men, has since left Mire Bay and gone in to Bias Bay.
