With reference to my telegram of 28th. January and your telegram of 9th. February my enquiry was on behalf of a non- official War Charities Committee that I appointed. They desire to concentrate their funds beyond those required for local war charities on same main object identifiable with the Colony at home. They prefer a small hospital of 50 to 75 beds managed by a non-official London Committee on the lines of Blackmore End. F.M.S. require no assistance and to establish a new hospital means too great delay. I should be much obliged for your advice for suggestion to Committee which will meet on 24th. March for taking over any such existing hospital whole or part or aling wing thereto and approximate cost. Failing hospital scheme can you suggest any other suitable object identifiable with the

Colony.

MAY.
