You will see from the telegram copy of which is given in this letter that although we approved the pro- posals terminating Cheetham's agency as long ago as the 2nd of June the liquidators appear to be still proceeding on the assumption that the agency is still valid. This may only be due to the fact that the Governor's decision has not yet been communicated to them. On the other hand there may have been some change of policy. In any case it is extremely difficult for us to deal with the Company here unless we know definitely what is being done in the Colony. I think, therefore that we might telegraph for information in the terms of the draft submitted.
With regard to the words in the telegram on 26114 to which I have taken exception on that paper I spoke to Mr Carroll about this this morning and he told
