All we desire to have is the formal consent of His Excel-
lency for us to appoint Mr. Haken Schluter, a British subject
born in London of Danish parents, as our agent to carry on the
Agency of the Texas Company of New York and Texas which we have
held since 1910. We cannot imagine any reason why this legiti-
mate request of ours should not be granted, its whole object
being simply to ensure continuity of our business and the ship-
ment to Hongkong of further supplies of Oil Products (principally,
Kerosene Oil), to be sold by our agent on our behalf and that of
the Texas Company.
Perhaps you will be good enough to explain by cable the
urgency of the matter and should you require further particulars
for that purpose, we will have much pleasure in waiting upon you
again.
