With reference to our interview on this subject, it has now Ceen arranged that Messrs Lowe, Bingham & Matthews shall att nd
every Saturday and check the stock and also the stock with the cash. They will give a certificate to Messrs Gaupp & Co regarding the result which will always be open for the Government(s inspection. Our clients have orders on the way from England covering consignments to them of charts and also plated ware from Happin & Webb. These consignments they expect to receive in due course, the consignors will draw against them through the Hong Kong Bank. We have informed them that we can see no objection to such drafts being duly honoured by them,
We shall be glad to receive formal permission for them
to carry on business on the lines arranged which we understand to be as follows:-
