Sir,
I am instructed by the Director of the War Trade Department
to state for the information of Mr. Secretary Bonar Law that
an application has been received in this Department from
Messrs. Stedman, Crowther and Company for a licence for the
export of 75 Bottles of Quicksilver each weighing 75 lbe net,
valued at £1,235, consigned to J. R. Michael and Company,
of Hong Kong.
In view of the quantity involved and of the possibilities the mercury of reaching the enemy I am to ask that enquiries may be
made with regard to the status and trustworthiness of the
above consignee.
