LONDON, S.W.
July, 1915.
With reference to . Read's letters of the 19th instant,
lov (82862/15), and 25rd instant (33560/15), enclosing copies of correspondence with the Governor of Hong Kong regarding the exportation of antimony and antimony ore to Japan, I an
directed by the Minister of Munitions to state for the informa-
tion of Mr. Secretary Bonar Law that, subject to the following
observation, he concurs in the terms of the instructions which
Mr. Boner Law proposes to address to the Government.
Mr. Lloyd George is disposed to think that as antimony
is largely exported from Japan to the United States of
America for use in producing munitions for the use of the
Allies, it might be desirable to permit this export to continue
provided that any antimony so exported is consigned to the
British Consul General at New York who could see that it is
only used for the above purpose.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
The Under Secretary of State,
Colonial Office.
