From to-day's "Echo de Tientsin" we learn that a number
of Boches made insulting remarks and gestures from a Boche shop in the French Concession whilst our Allies troops went past the place last Saturday, says a northern paper,
We think, continues the papers in question, we can rely upon our Gallie allies to prevent a repetition of this sort of
thing and if any of our Allies were to punish the offenders on
their own initiative we could not really blame them as there are
times when one's forbearance is exhausted. In acting as above
described the Boches are playing with fire and have only themselves to blame for any unpleasant consequences which may
arise. We have said more than once that we think the Germans
should be swept out of China altogether and we see absolutely no
reason to alter our opinion.
