CONFIDENTIAL.

Subject

-

Sedition.

From The General Officer Commanding,

China Command.

To The Secretary,

War Office, London, S.W.

HEADQUARTERS, HONG KONG,

24th May, 1915.

Sir,

379

I have the honour to forward an extract from

a statement by an informer named Nawab Zhan,

This statement was sent me from India by the Officiating Deputy Inspector General of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, Punjab, Lahore.

The extract I have made shows that he Hong Kong Police are not very successful in preventing objectionable persons from landing here. It also shows that in spite of all our efforts the Gurdwara (Sikh Temple) here is a hotbed of sedition.

I have, 3c.,

(3D) F.L.KELLY,

Major General.

Commanding H.B.M's Troops in Chinɛ.
