I have sent the followin; to the Pritish Hinister at Pekin:-
"The British inhabitants at Shameen cre naturally most indignant at the German offensive and insulting exultation over the 'Lusitania' and other occasions in
the Victory Hotel and in Shancen Club, I understand
that the German flag is still flying over the Consulate and I hope that your Excellency can take some steps to
stop such an unseemly situation and one so bad for
British prestige."
As Shameen is a British concession, I urgently press that something be done.
