A certain Lr. b.zebb who is of british birth, but for many years a resident in the U.S.A, was for some considerable time assistant in A.K. & Co's office. He left Hongkong some time before the war and went to America where he married the wealthy widow of a former Mongkong resident. ir. ebb, it is stated, took out his papers while in America and now claims to be an American citizen. He has quite recently returned to Kongkong and established himself as an American merchant,
Lesara. Arnhold,harberg & Co. were formerly agents for Fasers. Fraser of kanchester and used the well known *chop" for a certain class of piece goods, viz:- "Fox & Fuck" which is considered by the Chinese to be a German shop. This material is similar to, and manufactured by, the same firm that makes the ""agle and reach" chop sold by a leading british fira in Hongkong, with which it is in keen competition. It is now understood that Ir. „ebb will act as Agent for the "sox luck" chop.
Mr. F.Morten Bell, an Engineer, formerly worked under Arnhold Karberg co. in Canton, their name appearing under him on his office board. His name now stands
as horton bell and underneath ..Arnhold.
Kr. bell recently called on a writish resident in Canton to complain that this gentleman had gut about a report that Ir. Arnhold was a German and on his behalf threatened legal proceedings for libel. The british resident denied the charge.
