September, regarding the position of Messrs H. E. Arnhold
and Company in China, I am directed by the Board of Trade
to state for Mr. Bonar Law's information that the firm
having accepted certain conditions, including the appoint-
ment of a supervisor, laid down by His Majesty's Govern-
ment, it has been decided that they may be recognised
as a British firm,
