the late Mr. W.E. Scharff.
I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 13th instant, and to inform you that I have caused en uiries to be made, and find that the late Mr. Scharff was born at Leeds in 1852, his parents being German subjects, and died in June 1914. His widow, who resides at "Monkbarns", Weeklands Road, Harrogate, is the
daughter of Mr. Joseph Oddy, a well nown manufacturer, of
Birkenshaw, near Bradford,
Messrs. Edward Scherff & Co. Limited, carry on
businas as Stuff and Woollen Merchants, their registered
office being at 56, Harris Street, in this City, the firm
being comprised of Mrs. Scharff; Mr. Thomas Campbell,
Grassington; and Mr. F.M. Hood, Ilkley, who are all
British subjects. The employees consist wholly of
British subjects,
