The first letter (verbatim copy attached) is from one Loung Laiting, who has been employed at Duncan's business premises in ong Fong, and who is not, apparently very well acquainted with the English language.

The letter shows that several persons at Hong Kong are under arrest in connection with some former offence committed there by Duncan! a company against the laws of that place:

apparently an offence in the com- mission of which Duncan was concerned is being re-opened.

A copy of this letter would probably be useful to the Governor of Hong Kong.
