6th Lastent, concerning the firm "International Bùraau
Bevordering van Handel & Industrie J. Bendien,
Damrak 60, Ansterdam, I have the honour to report as
follows:-

This firm is a Dutch concern started in 1905 by lr.
Hendien a Dutchman, the present managar, and two other
gentlemen of the same nationality, who, however, are no
longer in the businen6.
The capital is 50,000 fl. of which 42.000 fl. are
paid up. kr. Bendien is Vice President of "The American-
Export Chamber of Commerce" at Amsterdam, his brother is
Dutch Consul at Bombay. The object and aims of the firm
are given by its name and are more explicitly explained in
the advertisement extracted from "The China Kail" a copy
of which accompanied your Despatch.
The main offices are at Amsterdam, branch offices
having been established in 1910 in Brussels, 1912 in
Hamburg, 1913 in London and 1914 in Zurich.
The firm have been very prosperous, the dividends
