In 1913 the import of hides from China was valued
the
at $28,000, whereas in 1914 it was only $4,600. The
difference has been made up by import from Mexico,
import from which has increased from $19,000 in 1913 to
$90,000 in 1914.
The total import of hides in 1914 was 12,600
packages as compared with 1,000 in 1913, and in 1912
3,000 packages.
It is difficult to make accurate comparisons as
the total imports are given in packages and those of the
various countries in dollars.
