REPORT ON IMPORT OF ANTIMONY AND HIDES INTO SAN
FRANCISCO.
282
Antimony is regularly brought from China by various
steamers, principally those of the Pacific Mail Steamship
Company and of the Robert Dollar Company.
As a rule it is consigned to New York and is sent on
from San Francisco by water.
The New York cargo brought by the Dollar steamers is
taken on the Luckenbach steamers. That brought by the
Pacific Mail is shipped by the same company's steamers and
by other vessels such as the American Hawaiian line and
the Panama line.
The agency which is employed by the Consulate to
obtain information regarding shipping has special instruc-
tions to report upon all shipments of antimony. The
result of such reports is included in the weekly returns
furnished to the Foreign Office and the Embassy.
