Dear Sir:

AMOY,
REG 2 MG15 June 14th 1915,
90
Many thanks for your letter of the 4th ultimo
also for the blue book, which I have read with very
great interest and passed on to the Master and Offi-
cers of our steamer in port.
It must indeed be most gratifying to the active
members of the Guild to reap the benefits that you
and your Committee have obtained for them, and I am
glad to note, from the correspondence published, that
your efforts are evidently appreciated.
Here we do not feel the immediate effects of the
war, and as far as local and outward appearances go
there might be no war going on, shipping comes and
goes as usual. One German ship interned and the
absence of the German merchant Flag alone indicates
that something is out of gear somewhere.

Secretary,
The Imperial Merchant Service Guild.
