Sir:-
In reply to your letter of the 5th instant,
relative to the newspaper "Jehan-i-Islam", I am direct-
ed by Secretary Sir Edward Grey to state, for the
information of Mr. Secretary Bonar Law, that the
particulars in his possession in regard to this paper
do not add anything to those already supplied to you
by the India Office, beyond the fact that an African
Arab of the name of Salih Tunisi is associated with
Yusuf Shatwan and Abu Said as co-editor of the publica-
tion.
Various articles which have appeared in the "Jehan-
i-Islam" have been communicated to this Department from
time to time by His Majesty's Embassy at Constantinople,
but beyond indicating a policy of violent panislamic
propaganda these articles did not contain any matter of
