With reference to your despatch No.1 of the 18th
of January last in regard to the deportation from Hong
Kong of prisoners conviated before the Supreme Court for
China and sent to serve their sentences in the Colony, I
am directed by Secretary Sir Edward Grey to transmit to
you herewith copy of a letter from the Colonial Office
[ for which you will observe that the Secretary of State
for the Colonies concurs in the suggestions contained in
your despatch under reply.
With regard to the suggested revocation of Article
3 of the China and Corea (Amendment) Order in Council
1910, Sir Edward Grey would be glad to receive any
observations which you may wish to offer before taking
any action in the matter.
