The Treasury Department at Washington having

decided that the Steamer "K.D.3" formerly British

steamer "Farn" is a German prize and tender to the

belligerent fleet, the captain of said vessel was

notified that he would have to leave this port within

24 hours or intern, which latter was done yesterday

at 10.30 a.m.

The custody of the ship, prize crew and officers

were turned over to Lieut. Col. W. P. Burnham U.S.A.

commanding the United States Military forces in Porto

Rico and instructions given to release the 22 Chinese

members of the crew, subject to Immigration regulations.

Said members are at present enjoying shore leave

and staying at a hotel costing 3/- per diem, with the

exception of two (from Hongkong) who are in the
