With reference to your letter of August 27th,
1914 (31775) and to previous correspondence on the

subject of Afghan Sepoy Ibrahim, I am directed by
Secretary Sir E. Grey to transmit to you herewith,
for the information of Mr. Secretary Harcourt, copies
of correspondence which has passed between this
Department and the Treasury, and at the same time to
state that this Department is prepared to transfer
the sum of Two hundred and sixty-six pounds fourteen
shillings and four pence in respect of the charge of
the Solicitors to the Crown Agents, and also the cost
of the prisoner's maintenance on being informed of
the amount of the latter item.
I am further to add that this Department 18
