The next time the deceased heard of the said
Jane Ross was about 18 months ago, when a friend of his
in Hong Kong, who had married a lady from New Zealand
informed him that his wife the said Jane Ross had died
in New Zealand.
In April 1913 the deceased again came to
Scotland on holiday.

On 2nd May 1913 he contracted an irregular at the Registrar's Office in Inverness marriage/with Mrs Christine Matheson or Tolmie, a Widow
residing at 16 Market Brae, Inverness, and the parties
appeared before the Sheriff the same day and got a
warrant to register the said marriage, which was done.
Since then the deceased and the said Mrs
Christine Matheson or Tolmie have lived together as
husband and wife at 16 Market Brae, aforesaid.
On 11th August last the deceased wrote to
the Under Secretary of State Colonial Office for a free
passage for the said Mrs Christine Matheson or Ross to
Hong Kong, along with himself, and his request was
acceded to.
On 12th August last the deceased consulted Mr
J Sinclair Fraser Solicitor, Inverness as to obtaining
possession of the articles in the possession of Mrs Bain
referred to on page 2. Some correspondence took place
between Mr Fraser and Mr Robert White S.S.0. Edinburgh
in regard to the matter.
On 23rd October the deceased called on Mr
Fraser, when the latter informed him that an arrestment
had been placed by Mr White in his (Mr White's) hands
on a sum of money which he held belonging to the deceased
and that this arrestment was on the dependence of the
action of Separation and aliment by the said Jane Ross.
