We are favoured with your letter of 5th curt

sending us form of receipt for amount due to the

deceased's estate from Colonial Funds.

We have got the vouchers duly signed and

attested and shall pass it through the British Linen

Bank for presentation for payment.

We note that you say in regard to the Pensio

payable to the deceased's Widow.

If the matter has to be decided on a strictly

legal basis, we can offer no objection to the decision

of the Directors of the Pension Fund.

If however it is open to them, in the present

case where there are two Claimants, to pay the Pension

to whom they see fit, as being the party who most. deserves it, then we would urge upon them the claims

our client. In this connection we beg to send you.

and sent herewith copy of Memorandum prepared by us,

to our Edinburgh Agents, in connection with an action

of Separation and Aliment raised by deceased's wife against him, shortly before his death.

From this Memorandum you will find:-

1. that the deceased's lawful wife left him

1906, when he sent her to this country owing to he

conduct.

2. that the only occasion on which he heard

thereafter from her, was about 5 years before his death,

when by mistake she sent him a letter which she had

intended
