I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the

Admiralty to acquaint you for the information of the

Secretary of State for the Colonies, that they have

received from the Commander in Chief, China, a copy of

correspondence which has passed between the Governor of

Hong Kong and the General Officer, South China Command,

regarding the administration of military law in the

Colony during time of war.

2. My Lords would be glad to be informed of

the views of the Secretary of State and of any action he is

taking with regard to the matters in dispute.

3. A similar letter has been sent to the

War

Office.
