The Under Secretary of State for the Colonies presents his compliments to the Director of Military

Cort 21 Des. Intelligence and, with reference to his note of the 4th

February (M.I.(i) 668) is directed to transmit to him

the accompanying two copies of a despatch from the Governor of liong Kong containing the confession of E. Douwes Dekker. Copies have been sent to the India

Office and Foreign Office, and a copy is being sent to

the Admiralty.

Sir J. Anderson notes Major-General Facdonogh's desire that two copies of similar letters should be forwarded to the War Office, and instructions are being

issued accordingly.
