I have the honour to request that my Despatch
No. 360 of the 12th. November may be amended to read that the
Hamburg branches of the Chartered Bank of India, Australia and
China and the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation are under
the supervision of the German Government, and not that they are
being carried on under that supervision.
No information is available locally as to
whether the business of these branches is being actually carried
on.
