Your telegram of 20th May. Peanuts. Much
regret that through an oversight shipment has been
allowed of 500 bags to Amsterdam consigned to Overseas
Trust on board "Laomedon left Hongkong for London 11th
October. Ocean Steamship Co. have been instructed to
hold goods in London pending instructions from Customs
Authorities. New crop of peanuts being now in the market.
Shippers supplŕted by Dutch Consul request re-opening of
general question asking that normal pre-war shipments of
peanuts in shells should be allowed to Overseas Trust.
Such peanuts are said to be of too good quality for
manufacture of margarine.
