our salaries as contributions to the Widows and Orphans' Fund, our
actual pay never reaches the amounts quoted by His Excellency the
Governor.
That His Excellency has recommended us is so small
that not 3% of the Force will benefit by it for 2 or 3 years and
a large number never. We would point out that thu letropolitan
Police get one day off a week and 2 to 3 week's holidays yearly
amounting to 10 months in five years. They receive full pay during
tae whole 10 months on leave, also the whole of the ten months spent on leave in b years, in the Metropolitan counts towards pension, whereas only half of our time spent on leave counts Lowards pension and two-third towards full pay.
In conclusion we most humbly and respectfully request that you may be pleased to examine the facts we have now the honour to put before you and we further humbly pray that you may be thereby enabled to grant us the relief we earnestly crave in the shape of better pay and pension conditions and grant us our prayer as craved før in paragraph 13 of the Inspectors' petition.
