It is under contemplation to

extend the eastern harbour wall of the Alexandra Dock up to the entrance of the Victoria Dock, thus viding an additional length of about 3,000 ft. of wall with u depth of 28 ft. (L.W.O.S.T.). A communica- tion passage between Alex- andra and Victoria Docks having depth of water the Rume as the former dock and providing four additional 500 ft. berths is to be con- structed.
Calcutta.
No extra expenditure would le incurrad in dredging as th existing port dredging plat (this plant is separate an! distinct from the river a proaches dredging plant) is capable of cutting the o depths.
Colombo.
