With reference to my Despatch No. 247 of the 14th. July, I have the honour to enclose copies of two letters,

which have been received from Loke Yew.

The manner in which the lom is to be invested

is now under consideration, and the result will be not only a substantial addition to the income of the University for the next twenty-one years which was much needed, but also a large increase in the capital endowments.
