The Commodore-in-Charge is informed that the propo- -sals contained in Yard Letter dated 21st. February last lo. 80 in in regard to the installation of telephonic communication between his office and the 30 K.W. Wireless Telegraphy Station at Stone- -cutters Island at an estimated cost of £140 are approved.

As it is considered undesirable that the telephone should be used when dealing with important signals (especially when in cypher) telegraphic, as well as telephonic communication should be provided, and it is requested that the arrangements made to give effect to this may be reported in due course. Two Moree Inkers,

with Post Office,pattern keys are being forwarded to Hongkong in

order that the same lines may if possible be used for both tele-

-graphic and telephonic work.

The annual rental involved viz. £51, for the instru-

-ments and direct line reserved exclusively for Admiralty use is also approved.
