MEGE 9 JUL 15j

GOVERNMENT HOUSE,

HONGKONG. 4th. June, 1915.

In continuation of my Confidential Despatch of the 20th. May, I have the honour to refer to the latter from the General Post Office to the Under Secretary of State No. 244291 of the 7th. March, a copy of which was enclosed in Mr. Harcourt's Confidential Despatch of the 13ta. March, 1913.

2.

In that letter it is stated that the Postmaster- -General "proposes in due course to put forward suggestions for the "re-arrangement of the incidence of the subsidy to come into "operation after the 31st. of January, 1915". In view of this

expression of the intentions of the Postmaster-General and having regard to what I have already urged in my previous Despatches on this subject, I trust that it may be found possible to relieve this Colony of at least some portion of the share of the subsidy at

present paid.

I have the honour to be.

sir,

Your most obedient,

humble servant,

Amag
