I have the honour to submit the following report of the
work done in Camp at tonecutters Island from the 31st October
to the 9th inat, inclusive,

The training was entirely confined to Yusketry and full
avantago kas taken of the various ranges provided on the
Island,
I programme has drawn up before camp, allotting times
for carrying out the various practices, but owing chief- -ly to the bad weather experienced during the first half
of the Camp, it was not possible to adhere strictly to
the progrAYIZU,
The attendance on the whole was good, but rould undoubt-
edly ave been better but for the had weather experten-
-ced at the first weck end, during which time it rained
almost continuously; and many who would otherwise have
roned in Camp, having only one uniform, decided to
return to Hongkong, as there was no means of drying
clothes in Camp. The liquianting of German Firms was
also responsible for keeping away a number of men who
would otherwise Lave been able to put in more time at
Camp.

The avorage number of men rleeping in Camp was 55.
Reveille was sounded at 5.30 n.m. by ipers Drummond and
Gray when they were staying in Camp.

Early morning parade 6.15 a.m. Mucketry exercices,
-ing on the Miniature Ranges; and on the Rifle Range
were carried out i- Recruits being kept at Vuskotrg
(1).
