Referring to my Confidential Despatch of the

26th. February, I have the honour to report the further steps that

have been taken in the matter of the restritions placed upon ex-

-ports from this Colony.

I informed you in paragraph 3 of my above

quoted Despatch that a proclamation based on your telegram of the

11th. February had been issued on the 24th. February. I now enclose

a copy of that proclamation, and I also enclose copies of a procla-

-mation as to food-stuffs and a notice as to coal, based on the

same telegram, which were published on the 27th. February.

On receipt of your telegrams of the 19th, and 31st. March en clair versions of which are endlosed, and of your

Circular Despatch of the 15th. February, a proclamation consolidat- -ing and amending the instructions previously in force was gazetted on the 1st. April. I enclose fifteen copies of this proclamation in

accordance with the instructions in paragraph 4 of the Circular

1y630 Despatch. I informed you in my telegram of the 16th April, copy enclosed, that this proclamation had been issued and that the only special local prohibitions contained in it were in respect of certain Medical stores particularised by the Naval and Military

Authorities.
