As you are aware I am the liquidator of the business and affairs of the firm of lesers. Garrels Borner & Co. appointed
under the Alien ene dies (Winding up) Ordinance.
I now propose to commence business as a Merchant and Commission Agent on my own account under the style of W. G. Worcester & Co. (possibly registering as a private Company under the Companies Ordinance) and inasmuch as, I also propose to en- -gage the late Compradore and Staff of the above firm to assist in the business, it is natural that some of the trade previously
carried on by that firm may now fall into my hands.
Under these circumstances, in view of the provi-
-sions of Sec. 6 of the Ordinance, it is considered by me advisable
to lay the matter before you, although it would appear to be unnecessary to obtain the permission referred to in that section, having regard to the printed instructions of November 24th., and
to the letter of the Attorney-General of the 16th. November in
which it was stated that the Government had no objection to my representing as agent the British and neutral firms formerly represented by the above alien enemy firm.
I understake of course not to allow the fact of my
carrying on business myself to in any way prejudicially affect the proper winding up of the alien enemy firm, nor the full perform-
-ance of my duties as liquidator.
I have etc.,
(sd.) W. G. Wircester.
I
The Hon.
The Colonial Secretary.
